Out west, Newbury Christmas Tree Farm is a family-run choose-and-cut farm in the Berkshire countryside, a pleasant run out if you are heading that way.

Garden centres across the RG postcodes, including the larger ones at Arborfield and Warfield, stock cut trees through December, and some sell potted Christmas trees for a flat or a small room. Pop-up sellers also appear near the town centre as December approaches.

Caring For Your Reading Christmas Tree

The Norway Spruce needs more water than the Nordmann Fir. If the base runs dry even for a day, the tree seals over and needle drop speeds up fast. Check the stand every morning. Keep it watered and it will last through the whole of Christmas.
