Every tree is a fresh cut from a British farm. Trees travel direct from the grower to you. Call us after 10am on delivery day for an ETA on 0203 519 9997. Our own team handles Oxford deliveries. If you are out, we leave the tree safely.

Caring For Your Oxford Christmas Tree

Take a fresh cut off the base before putting the tree in its stand. About an inch is enough. This reopens the vessels that sealed during transport and lets the tree drink properly. Fill the stand with water on day one and top it up every day. A tree in a warm room can drink a litre a day.

Keep the tree away from direct heat sources and direct sun. Radiators dry a tree out fast. The slower it dries out, the less needle drop you will see. Oxford City Council collects christmas trees in early January. Check the council website for your collection date. Remove all decorations first.

A freshly cut tree kept well can last six weeks. Most trees go up in late November or early December. If yours goes up on the 1st of December, it should still look good on Christmas Day if you keep the water topped up.

The norway spruce needs more water than the Nordmann. Check the stand every morning. If the base is dry even for a day, the tree will seal over and stop drinking. Once it stops drinking, needle drop speeds up fast. Top the water up before you go to bed and again in the morning.

After Christmas, Oxford City Council offers a free christmas tree collection service. Dates vary by area. Check the council website in early January. Trees must be free of all decorations and tinsel before collection. Real trees can also be composted at home if you have a compost bin or garden space. They break down quickly and put nutrients back into the soil.
