Good Elf delivers real Christmas trees across Watford. We have done it since 2004. Every tree is cut to order from British farms and brought straight to your door. We cover WD17 to WD25. Delivery from £5.95 on smaller packages. Next-day delivery available. For christmas trees Watford families trust, Good Elf brings the farm to your front room.
A fresh cut tree drinks well and holds its needles for weeks. Nothing sits in a cold store waiting for an order. That is the difference between a real Christmas tree that still looks good on Christmas Day and one that has dropped half its needles by week two.
Every tree comes from the same premium grade stock. We do not split our supply into budget and premium lines. You get the best we have. Finding the perfect tree should not mean a long drive, so we bring it to you. Twenty years of December rounds through Cassiobury, Nascot Wood and Oxhey stand behind every tree we send out.
Watford sits in our home county. Our own team delivers here, not a courier. If you are out, we find somewhere safe to leave your tree. Call us after 10am on the day on 0203 519 9997 and we will give you an estimated arrival time.
Choose Your Watford Christmas Tree
Shop Nordmann FirNordmann Fir
Our most popular tree. Soft needles, even shape, excellent needle retention. The Nordmann Fir holds its needles for weeks. You can sweep up after Christmas without finding piles on the floor. Full shape, no scent. Good for homes with children or pets.
Shop Norway SpruceNorway Spruce
The classic Christmas tree with a lovely scent. Needle drop is faster than the Nordmann so keep it watered from day one. Strong branches hold heavy decorations well. Lower price and a traditional look. The right choice if the scent matters to you.

If you would rather choose a tree in person, the country around Watford has a good Christmas tree farm or two within reach. Christmas Tree Place is a working Christmas tree farm just off the A41 near Berkhamsted, where two brothers have grown trees since 1991 and you can pick a fresh Nordmann Fir straight from the field. We Tree Kings supplies handpicked, locally grown trees across Watford with delivery to your door. Both offer the cut and potted trees you can plant out after the season. Several garden centres around the town carry cut trees through December too.
For a fresh tree brought to your door on the day you name, Good Elf is the easy choice. No car, no roof rack, no queue.
Caring For Your Watford Christmas Tree
Take a fresh cut off the base before you stand the tree. About an inch is enough. This reopens the vessels that sealed during transport and lets the tree drink. Fill the stand with water on day one and top it up every day. A tree in a warm room can drink a litre a day.
Keep the tree away from radiators and direct sun. Heat dries a tree out fast. The slower it dries, the less needle drop you see. A fresh tree kept well can last six weeks. If yours goes up on the 1st of December, it should still look good on Christmas Day.
The Norway Spruce needs more water than the Nordmann. Check the stand every morning. If the base runs dry even for a day, the tree seals over and stops drinking. Once it stops drinking, needle drop speeds up. Top the water up before bed and again when you wake.
After Christmas, Watford Borough Council collects real Christmas trees for recycling through January. Cut your tree into sections of four feet or less, remove all decorations and set it at the edge of your property clear of the pavement. Check the Watford Borough Council website for your collection week. You can also compost a real tree at home if you have the space. It breaks down fast and feeds the soil for next year.
Watford at Christmas
Watford fills up fast in December. The Parade and the High Street draw shoppers, and the atria Watford centre pulls crowds from across the county. Cassiobury Park gives families room to walk off the mince pies, and the Harlequin end of town keeps the lights burning late. A real tree at home rounds it off.
Winterfest Lights Switch-On
Watford Town Centre holds its Winterfest and Christmas lights switch-on in mid-November. Funfair rides and live music run along The Parade through the afternoon, then the Winterfest parade leads into the switch-on at dusk. The event is free and busy.
Christmas at atria Watford
The atria Watford centre runs its own Christmas programme through December, with a grotto, seasonal events and late-night shopping in the run-up to the day. It sits at the heart of the town centre, a short walk from The Parade.
Carols and Cassiobury Park
Churches across Watford hold carol services through December, with St Mary's in the town centre among those running their own evenings. Cassiobury Park stays open for winter walks, with the canal and the old avenue at their quietest in the cold months.
