Nordmann Fir real Christmas tree
Cut to order UK grown Next day delivery Free freshness guarantee 20 years experience

Good Elf delivers real Christmas trees across Cambridge. We have done it since 2004. Every tree is cut to order from British farms and brought straight to your door. We cover the CB postcodes. Delivery from £5.95 on smaller packages. Next-day delivery available. For christmas trees Cambridge families trust, Good Elf delivers fresh.

A freshly cut tree drinks well and holds its needles for weeks. Nothing sits in a cold store waiting for an order. That is the difference between a tree that still looks good on Christmas Day and one that has shed half its needles by the second week.

Every tree comes from the same premium grade stock. We do not split our supply into budget and premium lines. You get the best we have. Twenty years of December deliveries to Chesterton, Trumpington and Cherry Hinton stand behind every tree we send out.

Your tree travels by national courier and arrives before 2pm on your chosen date. We do not offer tracking. Call us after 10am on the day on 0203 519 9997 for an estimated arrival time. If you are out, the courier leaves it somewhere safe.

Nordmann Fir Christmas trees CambridgeShop Nordmann Fir

Nordmann Fir

Our most popular tree. Soft needles, even shape, excellent needle retention. The Nordmann Fir is the non drop favourite and holds its needles for weeks. You can sweep up after Christmas without finding piles on the floor. Full shape, no scent. Good for homes with children or pets.

Norway Spruce Christmas trees CambridgeShop Norway Spruce

Norway Spruce

The classic Christmas tree with a lovely scent. Needle drop is faster than the Nordmann so keep it watered from day one. Strong branches hold heavy decorations well. Lower price and a traditional look. The right choice if the scent matters to you.

Farmer Freeman at Histon lets you pick your own or have one of the team choose it for you. Willow Grange Farm at Chittering on the Ely Road stocks fresh cut trees and potted trees through December too.

Caring For Your Cambridge Christmas Tree

Take a fresh cut off the base before you stand the tree. About an inch is enough. This reopens the vessels that sealed during transport and lets the tree drink. Fill the stand with water on day one and top it up every day. A tree in a warm room can drink a litre a day.

Keep the tree away from radiators and direct sun. Heat dries a tree out fast. The slower it dries, the less needle drop you see. A fresh tree kept well can last six weeks. If yours goes up on the 1st of December, it should still look good on Christmas Day.

The Norway Spruce needs more water than the Nordmann. Check the stand every morning. If the base runs dry even for a day, the tree seals over and stops drinking. Once it stops drinking, needle drop speeds up. Top the water up before bed and again when you wake.

After Christmas, Cambridge City Council takes real Christmas trees in your garden waste bin in January, with collections moving to a monthly pattern over the festive period. Remove all decorations first and check the Cambridge City Council website for your date. The Arthur Rank Hospice charity collection picks up trees across the CB1 to CB5 postcodes for a donation. You can also compost a real tree at home if you have the space.

Cambridge at Christmas

Cambridge looks its best in December. The colleges glow in the early dark, the Backs run quiet along the river and the streets around Market Square fill with shoppers. King's College Chapel and the punts on the Cam give the city its own character at the festive season. A real tree at home rounds it off.

Cambridge Christmas Market and Lights

The Christmas lights switch on in Market Square in mid-November, with carols and live performers through the afternoon before the main event. The Christmas market then runs in Market Square through December, with stalls selling handmade gifts, decorations, festive food and hot drinks.

Ice Rink on Parker's Piece

The North Pole ice rink opens on Parker's Piece each year, set in a winter wonderland with a Christmas market, fairground rides and a tree maze. Food and drink stalls sit around the rink for a warm-up after the ice. It runs from late November through the festive season.

Carols at King's College Chapel

The Festival of Nine Lessons and Carols takes place in King's College Chapel on Christmas Eve, first broadcast in 1928 and now heard around the world. College chapels and churches across the city hold their own carol services through December. Check the King's College website for details on attending.

Yes. Every real Christmas tree we send is a freshly cut tree from a British farm, cut to order and delivered direct. We hold no stock in cold storage.
